Bitumen 60/70 — The World’s Most Specified Paving Grade
A balance of stiffness and flexibility suited to the widest range of climates.
Bitumen 60/70 is classified by needle penetration depth (60–70 mm/0.1 at 25°C) and softening point, per EN 1426 and EN 1427. This penetration range sits at the middle of the practical hardness spectrum, giving it enough stiffness to resist rutting under normal traffic loads while retaining enough flexibility to resist thermal cracking in cooler seasons — the reason it’s the default grade specified in most national road authority standards worldwide. Where 50/70 sacrifices a little flexibility for extra rutting resistance, and 70/100 sacrifices some stiffness for extra low-temperature flexibility, 60/70 sits at the balance point most temperate-to-warm climates are built around. Produced and packaged at our own facility, sourced directly from Source Petrochemical Refinery, with every batch independently verifiable through SGS or Geo Chem inspection.
