MC-30 — The Lightest Medium-Curing Cutback
Engineered to penetrate deep into granular surfaces before curing.
MC-30 is produced by blending penetration-grade bitumen with a medium-volatility kerosene-type diluent, classified per ASTM D2027 by kinematic viscosity. It’s the thinnest, most fluid product in the MC series — engineered specifically so it can penetrate into low-permeability or fine-graded base materials before the diluent evaporates and the bitumen cures back toward its base penetration properties. Because the diluent evaporates at a moderate rate (faster than SC grades, slower than rapid-curing RC-type cutbacks), MC-30 offers a working window long enough for proper penetration but short enough that the treated surface reaches usable strength within a practical construction schedule.
